چکیده

This work describes a concise algorithm for the generation of triangular meshes with help standard adaptive finite element methods. We demonstrate that generic solver can be repurposed into mesh generator if robust smoothing is applied between refinement steps. present an implementation and resulting via examples.

Finite element mesh generation and adaptive meshing

This review paper gives a detailed account of the development of mesh generation techniques on planar regions, over curved surfaces and within volumes for the past years. Emphasis will be on the generation of the unstructured meshes for purpose of complex industrial applications and adaptive refinement finite element analysis. Over planar domains and on curved surfaces, triangular and quadrilat...

Adaptive Multilevel Finite Elements for Mesh Optimization and Visualization

Multilevel representations and mesh reduction techniques have been used for accelerating the processing and the rendering of large datasets representing scalar or vector valued functions defined on complex 2 or 3 dimensional meshes. We present a method based on finite elements and hierarchical bases which combines these two approaches in a new and unique way that is conceptually simple and theo...

Unstructured Mesh Generation for 3 Dviscous

In this paper we review the procedures which are currently available for the generation of unstructured meshes suitable for use in the simulation of high Reynolds number viscous ows. For such simulations, computational eeciency generally dictates the requirement for the use of highly stretched cells in viscous dominated regions. Meshes of this type cannot be directly generated by the classical ...

Unstructured Tetrahedral Mesh Generation Technology

The whole process of mesh generation is presented in detail. Advancing front technique (AFT) is proposed for 3D tetrahedral mesh generation [1]. AFT starts from initial front. Initial front is a boundary surface conformal triangulation. On each step a new tetrahedron is constructed and the front is updated. At this point local mesh size could be selected automatically in order to create quasi-u...
